Moon Phases and Moon Energy

An exuberant guiding force for each one of us from so many ages, the strong ties between the beauty of the moon and our culture go a long way back.

The description of the spellbinding beauty of the moon and its healing energies are being used in our literature and poetries even before the nation gained complete independence!

Our poets, songwriters, and artists have used the moon and it's different phases to portray the true essence of core human emotions. For quite a long time, scientists have been keeping a track of the moon's impact upon the daily lifestyle of humans and different species on the earth! Our emotions, sleep cycle, interpersonal relationships, and even the menstruation cycles in women have been all directly or indirectly linked to the moon! Why and how does this happen?

Is there Science behind it or is it all just in the air? So, today let's explore a bit about the moon!

The moon is a feminine energy that runs in a cycle of 29.5 days. Just as the moon’s gravitational pull causes the high and low tides on the Earth’s surface, and since even our human body is composed of 70% water, so this gravitational pull of the moon has an effect on our inner chemistry causing a natural upsurge in the energy levels thereby bringing up all our underlying emotions of hurt, pain, guilt, anger etc. to the surface.

Within the different phases and cycles of the moon lies a huge world of wisdom which only if we were aware of how to tune into, the flow of life could become much easier and compatible with our daily lifestyle. So, now let’s see what these different phases of the moon have to tell us!

New Moon: Day 1
As the name suggests, the new moon's spiritual meaning symbolizes a calm and peaceful energy. It is the time to begin fresh and set intentions to plan for new beginnings in life, love, and career. By focusing on positive and loving intentions, it is the time of sprouting and creating a new life that is desired which is why it is also called the seed moon.

Waxing Moon: -
During the Waxing period, the world is regaining the moon's energy. This is the right time to make decisions, practice visualization and take actions. This phase is about starting new projects, remaining focused on dreams and goals. The seed that was planted during the new moon phase is now ready to turn into a flower as you shower it with some water and sunlight by taking a step maybe outside of your comfort zone.

First Quarter: Day 7
As the moon amplifies its energy by slowly moving towards the full moon now, this is the time for building habits and staying consistent with the same. To get the fruit out of the seed planted, it is now high time to walk towards the set goals and intentions with complete determination and focus without taking a detour. It’s the time to build and operate out of your strength and courage in order to walk to your highest potential.

Full Moon: Day 13 to 15
During a full moon, the Sun's masculine energy is reflected off the Feminine energy of the moon. This is the time to reflect back on your life and categorize what's working for you and what's not working for you. By cleansing and releasing all that's not working for you, this is a great time for having feelings of gratitude and forgiveness by releasing the clouds of fuzziness that reduces your clarity to make decisions and manifest abundance.

Last Quarter: Day 21
As you release and let go of all that’s redundant in walking your highest potential, this phase of the moon is the best to focus on self-love and nurturance. The flower on the tree would grow beyond only when you nurture them with kind words and appreciate them for their already existing beauty and thus this is the time to pause for a while and gift your body and mind with boxes of love and appraisal.

Waning Moon: -
Instead of holding onto the hurt of all those plans that might have not worked out for you, it is now time to move on with an attitude of gratitude by taking accountability for your actions and accepting the lessons with wisdom. As you now sit back and relax to celebrate your journey so far by letting go of control, also start preparing yourself for a new journey with different positive intentions as the New Moon strikes again with its abundant healing properties.

New Moon: Day 29.5
As one lunar cycle completes itself, the next one is already waiting on the door for you to start afresh with a new mindset. It is now the time to use and apply the wisdom of the previous lunar cycle for abundance and healing to unfold their parts in your life and give you a different direction to start.
